Wedding Review: In a nutshell

Before the wedding:

The dress...

Getting ready to see my handsome groom...

The groom eagerly awaits to see his bride...

Here I come!

First Look!

Bride/Groom pictures before the wedding:

The Aboretum had a ton of fun old stuff like trucks, a big windmill, and old cabin...

Can you spot us?

The ceremony...

As a harpist myself, I just had to have harp at my own wedding! I asked my good friend Virginia to play for us, and she was just exquisite!

Bride's side of the family arrives bright and early, with the groom's side being late. Hehe, typical!

The groom walks up to take his place at the arch.

Groomsmen follow and walk alone. Three of them are holding flowers behind their backs to eventually give the bridesmaids after they do a cute little curtsy.

The bridesmaids walk up to get their flowers and then take their places.

Cute little ringbearer and flowergirl.

Time for the bride!

Walking down with a very nervous/emotional dad.

Because my husband and I are both not religious, we had a lot of freedom to make our ceremony very personalized and unique. We helped write most of our officiant's speech, wrote our own vows, and even had a surprise in store for our guests. We wanted to have a very happy feel to everything!

Here come the bridal stereotypical tears...

My turn to read my vows. Of course, I had to put some good humor in it1

Our Special Surprise! We are both Music Therapists and met through music, so we thought the only fitting unity ceremony would have to follow this theme too! We sang "Tonight You Belong to Me" from The Jerk but changed some of the lyrics.

Sealing the deal with a kiss!

Rings that we custom-made for each other:

Wedding Party

Rather than boring you with the regular pics, here are some fun ones instead!

Groomsmen sweeping the bride off her feet!

Bridesmaids blowin' kisses to the groom.

Crazy faces:

Reception:

Vegan food, made by Green Restaurant. Our guests knew that by signing up for our wedding, they were in for some great cruelty-free deliciousness as well!

The guestbook was quilt squares for everyone to sign. The quilt is currently being sewn together.

Bamboo coaster favors.

Table flowers

Wine bottles

This was the last of 5 posters that my husband used to propose to me while riding on a ski lift up the mountain. We used them to decorate around our reception dance hall.

Marriage license signing:

We decided to use a natural rock in the park to sign our license on. Now, every time we go there, we can find the rock again and it will have a special significance.

First dance: "Say hey! (I Love you)- Michael Franti & Spearhead. We just had to have a fun upbeat song instead of a slow one!

Cake: Dark Chocolate Mouse & Ganache.

Reception dance building:

Hula-hoops, limboing, and having fun!

My mom's expression is just too priceless...
